1976 Cadillac Eldorado Convertible “32,885 original miles!! Time capsule! Recent extensive work ($$40,000++) on the underside including new suspension, brakes, etc. Drives like new. Stunning car!”

The car on offer here is an extremely low mileage example of a 1976 Cadillac Eldorado Convertible. With only 32,885 miles, this may be one of the nicest ELD’s on the market today!! The car was the recent recipient of an extensive underbody and mechanical restoration at a cost of more than $40,000. The owner wanted to keep the originality of the interior and exterior, but wanted a reliable car capable of daily driving. The entire suspension and underbody was restored as well as the engine compartment. All new bushings, ball joints, shocks, brakes including rotors, lines and master cylinder. All suspension pieces were stripped and powder coated. New torsion bars were installed. New AC compressor (converted to R134), alternator, radiator, hoses etc. The Calumet Cream (code 50) repaint is excellent with good color and depth; the trim and rubber is good. The Light Buckskin leather (code 642) interior is in excellent condition, the leather supple with little wear . The trim is very nice with only minor wear. The dash is excellent with one crack. The TAN CONVERTIBLE TOP is NEW and the electric top mechanism works as it should. The car has its hard boot cover. All electric seat adjusters work well and the AC blows cold. The tires have few miles and the correct original wheels and hubcaps are near perfect. The 500 CID (8.2 liters??!!) engine has been well maintained and the car is up to date on all services; it starts easily and runs well with good power and torque. THE CAR DRIVES LIKE NEW!!! This is the last of the “land yachts”, and cars in this condition rarely come up for sale. This is a no-excuses car that will make a great addition to any collection. Feel free to call 203 256 9800 or email Steven@classiccargallery.com if we can answer any of your questions. The 1970’s was a time of excess, and nothing typified this more than the Cadillac Eldorado Convertible. 20 feet long, 5400 pounds, 500 cubic inches (8.2 liter!!), 5 ft long doors, front wheel drive, and a gigantic white convertible top!!! Nothing screams “the 70’s” like these cars!! They were the last of their breed. Oil embargos and a drive towards economy cars would doom these cars to extinction and the “era of excess” would be over.
