1969 Javelin SST “Restored Car, wonderful condition both mechanically and cosmetically. The best!!”

The car on offer here is this stunning 1969 AMC Javelin SST . It was delivered new to Mel Brown Inc of Waynesboro, Pennsylvania; it was acquired by us in late 2021. The car was restored in the mid 1990s and refinished in green over black interior. At the time, its original 290ci V8 and three-speed automatic transmission were rebuilt. Equipment includes a Holley carburetor, an Edelbrock intake manifold, an aftermarket camshaft, Hooker headers, MagnaFlow mufflers, Cragar wheels, power-assisted brakes with front discs, an eight-track player, and a Mooneyes tachometer. The car was serviced recently, with work on the front brakes, an oil change, and replacement of the fuel pump, water pump, and valve-cover gaskets. This Javelin is now offeredAdditionally, the car comes with its original air-cleaner assembly and antenna, a reproduction window sticker, receipts dating back to the 1990s, manufacturer’s literature, and a clean Massachusetts title in the seller’s name. The car was repainted in its original Willow Green Metallic (75) paint. During the restorative work in the 1990s, the bumpers, door handles, trim, and emblems were replaced; there are some minor chips around the car, as would be expected in a restoration of this age. Additional features include black side stripes, tinted glass, and rear bumper guards. The paintwork and all exterior trim, and the car remains in excellent condition. Chrome-finished 14″ Cragar wheels are mounted with Firestone and BFGoodrich tires complete the exterior package. In 2020 the power assisted brakes were replaced, including new rotors, calipers, master cylinder and hoses. The black interior has been refreshed and features three-point seatbelts, a woodgrain console, and an AM radio with an eight-track stereo. A three-spoke wood grain steering wheel is mounted on an adjustable column. Instrumentation includes a 120-mph speedometer, a combination gauge, and a Mooneyes tachometer mounted to the column. Two additional Mooneyes gauges are affixed under the dashboard. The clock is inoperable and the aftermarket ammeter is disconnected. The odometer shows 8k miles, approximately 1,500 of which have been added by the current owner. The true mileage is unknown. The original 290ci V8 and three-speed automatic transmission were rebuilt during the 1990s refurbishment. Features include a Holley carburetor, an Edelbrock intake, an aftermarket camshaft, Hooker headers, and MagnaFlow mufflers. Service in 2020 consisted of changing the oil and replacing the valve-cover gaskets, fuel pump, and water pump. The engine starts easily, has good power and torque, is well sorted and drives easily. The automatic transmission shifts smoothly and the car is a pleasure to drive. The car comes with a reproduction window sticker which shows an original MSRP of $1,217.65 in optional equipment and a total retail price of $4,100.65. Buy with confidence, as this 1969 AMC Javelin SST is in wonderful condition, comes with its manuals and full documentation; it needs nothing except an enthusiastic new owner/collector.
