1966 FORD MUSTANG CONVERTIBLE. 35 YEAR OWNERSHIP, GREAT DOCUMENTATION AND SYMPATHETICALLY RESTORED.

BECAUSE LIFE IS TOO SHORT TO DRIVE A BORING CAR!! The Classic Car Gallery 2316 Fairfield Ave. Bridgeport, CT 06605 203 256 9800 ClassicCarGallery.com 203-256 9800 1966 Ford Mustang Convertible ā€œ2 owner car, long term ownership, extensive records from new including window sticker and ownership card, photos of restoration work, great driver!!ā€ VIN 6F08C388236 The car on offer here is this wonderful 1966 Mustang convertible. This car is a two owner car, with current ownership since 1987. The car has been well taken care of with loads of documentation going back to new. The car was restored in 2006 with an eye towards making the car a good driver, not a concourse queen. The car was purchased from Rudy Valentino Ford in Upper Darby, Pa on June 30,1966 (we have the original window sticker!!) and started life as a ā€œCā€ code V8 convertible in Springtime Yellow. The car was purchased by its second owner in 1987. He drove the car for 20 years and decided to engage in a sympathetic restoration in 2006. During the photo documented restoration, the floors were replaced as well as the rocker panels and trunk floor. It was repainted in its correct original Springtime yellow (Code#8). The paint remains in good condition, with good shine and luster. There are some minor blemishes around the car as would be expected from a car that sees regular use. The Black interior received some restorative work; it shows well. The seats are original, and look good, though the driver's seat has a tear on the seat bottom seam. Additional work during the 2006 work, the carpets were replaced as well as the dash pad. All stainless trim and rubber seals are excellent and all rubber seals are moist and pliable. The original 289 CID engine was rebuilt in 2006, it has a mild cam, starts easily and drives well with good power and torque. The brakes are newer as are the brake lines, master cylinder and wheel cylinders. The exhaust system is solid as it the suspension. The convertible top was replaced and the mechanism restored; the electric convertible top mechanism works well. As can be seen, lots of work has been done to make this car a great driver, and it remains in very nice condition. It starts easily, runs well and drives as it should. The original (rebuilt) Transmission shifts well and the clutch takes up with authority. Buy with confidence, as this car is well sorted and needs nothing except an enthusiastic new owner/collector.
