1973 KARMANN GHIA CONVERTIBLE “One owner car, full documentation, Wonderful car both mechanically and cosmetically”.

The car on offer here is this beautiful One-Owner 197 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia convertible. This Karmann Ghia convertible has those iconic lines that scream nostalgia!!! Powered by a 1600CC air-cooled four-cylinder engine this VW convertible is a joy to drive! This car runs and drives as well as it looks; it is peppy and fun!! It was purchased by the owner's parents for her graduation from high school in 1973! Original note discussing the “package” as a surprise for her. The car has been pampered its entire life. A refresh was undertaken in 2005 including paint, brakes, engine maintenance etc. The car remains in wonderful condition mechanically and cosmetically. The Yellow paint is excellent with great shine and luster; the paint is a 9/10, and I never give a 10!! Likewise, the black interior looks to be original; the seats are excellent, as are the carpets. There is some cracking on the top of the dash. The 1600cc engine starts on the first turn of the key and has good power and torque. The 4 speed manual transmission shifts with authority. This car turns heads wherever it goes. The black convertible top is in near new condition; the top mechanism works as it should. The glass rear window is in excellent condition; clear and scratch free. The original tonneau cover is included but could use replacement. It has its original am/fm radio; the radio works. The car is equipped with non-original wheels, the originals come with the car, but will need to be refinished. All trim is excellent and all rubber is fresh and pliable; the chrome on the bumpers has some pitting. This iconic, One-owner Karmann Ghia is a joy to drive, it needs nothing except an enthusiastic new owner/collector. It comes with all of its original books and manuals, and documentation from its life. Feel free to call 203 256 9800 or email if we can answer any of your questions.
