The Classic Car Gallery is proud to offer this time capsule 1968 Corvette 427/435 Big Block 4-SPEED COUPE. This 2-OWNER car is amazingly original, and has the original engine and drive train she was born with. She has been authenticated by a well known Corvette judge, and shows only 23,320 miles from new!!! We believe the mileage to be correct. Her original big block L-71 427 ci/ 435 hp engine (coded T0711IR-26063 date code f168), triple carburetor engine, is mated to her original M-21 4 speed transmission, and close ratio rear end. The motor was rebuilt in 2005. Built to stock specifications by TED JANNETTY RACING, it has been driven less then 2000 miles since. The Black interior is original, though the vinyl seats were recovered, we still have the original covers. The SAFARI YELLOW PAINT (code 984) is EXCELLENT, as she was re-sprayed at some point. The car breathes through rebuilt carbs (1 of the 3 is original, the other two are correct but not original) and original manifolds. All mechanical systems work, including the vacuum headlights, and wiper door. The climate control works well, and even the FIBER OPTICS work correctly!!! She DOES NOT have a/c. The tires and wheels are in excellent condition as well. The brakes are fresh, and the car has recently been tuned. The suspension was rebuilt (we still have the original springs), and the car handles as well as any 60s’ car I have driven. The POWER STEERING is tight, the MANUAL transmission shifts with authority, and the brakes work well. We have lots of paperwork, including ownership history, work orders and manuals. This rare and original LOW MILEAGE BIG BLOCK CORVETTE needs nothing except and enthusiastic new owner!!!
