New Sportscar eXperimental – NSX was designed, developed and hand built by Acura/Honda as a flagship supercar, able to compete with the best of Italy and Germany while maintaining the reliability that the Japanese cars are known for. The NSX has cemented its place in automotive history with its iconic styling, mid engine design, high performance and low production numbers. Introduced for model year 1991 and released to the public with huge fanfare. 1996 represented the final year of this body style; experts often agree that this is the epitome of the NSX line. Produced at the Tochigi assembly plant in Japan the cars were hand built to the highest tolerances. These cars are works of art. Only 505 NSX's were sold in 1996 with just 49 built in the black/tan combination with the 5-speed manual transmission.
